There will always be places we need to go, want to see, and dream to visit - but how do we protect the earth while traveling? While transportation emissions plummeted in 2020 to 98.0 million metric tons of MtCO2e in the UK due to the pandemic, it was still the main source of greenhouse gas emissions. With travel restrictions being lifted it's important to talk about the new era of transport and travel and how we can do our part to reduce our carbon footprint. Here are some great eco-friendly travel and transport tips to help clear your conscience while seeing the world and living your day-to-day life.

1. Fly direct
One international flight emits approximately 1/4 tonne of CO2 emissions per hour of flying, with take-off and landing requiring the most energy. Try your best to book non-stop or direct flights whenever you can.

4. Start green driving
Become a green driver by carpooling, checking your tire pressure often, slowing down to use less fuel or opening your window rather than using your air conditioner.
