Our fleet of 8 small-size expedition cruise ships includes the world’s first hybrid-powered cruises ships and all offer big adventures guided by hand-picked experts that make up Hurtigruten’s Expedition Team.

From the ice-filled bays of Antarctica, to the wildlife rich shores of the Galapagos Islands and everywhere in between, Hurtigruten Expeditions takes guests of journeys of exploration. Our focus is on educating our guests through activities and lectures from the Expedition Team, as well as offering guests the opportunity to participate in Citizen Science projects to help the global science community. The atmosphere on board is relaxed and informal, allowing guests the chance to relax, explore and engage with their fellow guests and the onboard crew.

Hurtigruten have been taking guests along the coast of Norway since 1893, giving us unparalleled know-how and love for these waters. Our Coastal Express Classic Voyages offer pure and unfiltered escape to the charming everyday life of the Norwegian coast. By sailing our traditional route, guests experience a genuine piece of living history that has faithfully connected the cities, towns and villages of coastal Norway for almost 130 years.

The essence of Norway’s appeal is remarkably simple; this is one of the most beautiful countries on Earth. On a Hurtigruten voyage, guests don’t just observe the coast but they will understand and become a part of the landscape and communities through which they sail.

On what was named by Lonely Planet as “the world’s most beautiful voyage”, guests will be treated to majestic fjords and spectacular glaciers, UNESCO World Heritage Sites, charming fishing villages, bustling cities and an abundance of wildlife. Not only that, by with 80% of the food served on board sourced locally from suppliers along the coastline, guests will experience the culinary journey that is Norway’s Coastal Kitchen.

Sailing year-round, our Coastal Express offers guests the chance to experience a magical winter wonderland lit up by Northern Lights, or experience 24-7 adventure with summer’s mesmerising Midnight Sun.

Hurtigruten Svalbard can trace its roots back to the late 1800s, and offers year-round land-based adventure next to the North Pole. Packages can be tailor-made for groups and individual travellers, combing their comprehensive selection of experiences, accommodation and dining options in Spitsbergen.
